Who these terms are with

These terms govern applications to, enrolment in and use of FirstVersion, operated by Prysm AI Technologies Ltd (RC 9444284), Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. An adult accepts these terms personally. Where a participant is under 18, the parent or legal guardian submitting the application accepts them for themselves and on the participant's behalf.

A school or institutional partner may have a separate written agreement with us. That agreement governs the institution's responsibilities; these terms still apply to individual use unless the separate agreement expressly says otherwise.

Applications and selection

• An application code or social graphic confirms receipt only. It does not guarantee acceptance, funding, investment, a scholarship or programme access.
• Information must be accurate and must not contain another person's private data, confidential material or content the applicant has no right to share.
• House choice creates community identity and friendly competition. It is not an admissions score and does not change access to curriculum or support.
• Applications are reviewed by people against the cohort's capacity and published selection considerations. We may seek clarification before making a decision.

Enrolment, fees and cancellation

Applying is free unless the application page clearly states otherwise. Before an accepted applicant pays, we will provide the price, what it covers, payment schedule, delivery format, material dates, and the applicable cancellation and refund rules in writing. A place is confirmed only through that enrolment process.

A participant may reasonably cancel an advance booking, subject only to a lawful and reasonable charge disclosed before payment. If FirstVersion cancels a paid programme or fails to provide a material paid service, the participant will receive the remedy or refund required by Nigerian consumer law. Nothing in these terms removes rights under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018.

The six-week programme

FirstVersion is designed to move a participant from an idea to a working first version, real user feedback, an attempt to earn a first paying customer, and a Demo Day presentation. Participants are expected to attend, do the work, test responsibly with real people and respond to feedback. Specific sessions, facilitators, venues, tools or dates may change for safety, availability or programme quality; material changes will be communicated promptly.

Completion evidence or a certificate may depend on stated attendance, project, assessment and conduct requirements. It is programme evidence, not an accredited academic qualification unless we expressly identify an accreditation in writing.

Accounts and acceptable use

Account details must be current. Passwords and account access may not be shared outside the registered user or family. Tell us promptly if an account may be compromised. A participant must not:

• harass, threaten, exploit, discriminate against or endanger another person;
• cheat, impersonate someone, misrepresent evidence or claim another person's work;
• upload malware, probe security, bypass access controls or disrupt the service;
• use programme tools for unlawful, deceptive, sexually exploitative or harmful activity; or
• publish a minor's contact details, precise location, routine, credentials or private family information.

Your project, our materials and Demo Day

A participant keeps ownership of the original project, code, writing, design and other work they create, subject to any third-party material or team agreement. The participant gives us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, display and review submitted work only as needed to deliver, assess and administer the programme.

FirstVersion retains its curriculum, software, teaching materials, templates, brand and programme methods. Participants may use supplied materials for their own learning and project, but may not resell, republish or operate the curriculum as their own programme without written permission. Public livestreaming, recordings, testimonials or promotional use of identifiable participant work requires a separate choice and, for a minor, parent or guardian authorization.

AI and third-party tools

AI output can be incomplete, biased or wrong and must be checked by the participant and, where appropriate, a facilitator. The companion's AI tutor is optional for registered minors and is enabled only under the AI Use Notice and recorded parent or guardian consent. Do not enter secrets, personal identifiers or confidential customer data into an AI tool.

External coding, hosting, payment, communication or AI services may have separate terms and age limits. Participants and parents must review those terms before creating an external account. FirstVersion is responsible for the services it supplies, but not for an independent third-party service outside its control.

No promise of revenue, funding or investment

A first paying customer is a programme target, not a guaranteed result. FirstVersion provides education, structure, feedback and community; it does not promise revenue, profit, employment, admission, investment, intellectual-property registration or business success. Feedback is not legal, financial, medical or investment advice. Participants remain responsible for decisions about their projects and must involve a trusted adult where law, safety or age requires it.

Safety, suspension and ending access

We may temporarily restrict or end access where reasonably necessary to protect participants, investigate misconduct, secure the service, comply with law, or address a serious or repeated breach. For a minor, we will normally involve the parent, guardian or relevant school unless doing so could create a safeguarding risk. Where fair and safe, we will explain the issue and allow a response. Ending access does not remove payment or refund rights provided by law.

Service standards and responsibility

We will provide paid services with reasonable care and skill and take reasonable steps to keep the platform secure and available. Internet, electricity and third-party interruptions may still occur. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits responsibility for fraud, wilful misconduct, negligence, personal injury, defective performance, or any consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Privacy

The Privacy Notice explains the personal data used for applications, accounts, programme delivery and the companion software. It also explains parent and guardian authorization, retention, international processing and privacy rights.

Complaints, law and changes

Contact privacy@prysmai.io first so we can investigate a complaint. This does not prevent a consumer from approaching the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, a data subject from approaching the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, or any person from using a court or another remedy available by law.

Nigerian law governs these terms. Material changes will be posted with a new effective date and communicated where appropriate. A material change will not retrospectively remove an accrued right; fresh acceptance or consent will be requested where the law requires it.
